In the morning of 11th May 2017, the Interdisciplinary Working Group led by Deputy Minister Cao Quoc Hung and other members from the Ministry of Industry and Trade visited and worked at Nha Be Garment Corporation JSC (NBC). The working group directly researched on the actual business and manufacturing activities, listened to difficulties and proposals of the company, and assessed opportunities and challenges for the company, so they can report to the Government for them to provide developmental policies for NBC in specific, and Vietnam’s garment industry in general.

At the meeting, Mr. Pham Phu Cuong – Chairman of NBC Managing Board reported to the Deputy Minister and the working group the manufacturing and business results and the orientation for the next period. In 2016, despite many difficulties and challenges caused by the under-recovered economy of the world, the Managing Board and the Executive Board of the Corporation still managed to provide effective, active, aggressive and flexible approaches to overcome such difficulties and challenges and helped the Corporation to overachieve set missions. In 2017, NBC continues the Managing Board’s strategy to become a “Human Resources Development Center” to create a sustainably supplemental and inheriting human resource for its expansion strategy in the future; to increase the proportion of FOB and ODM products; to develop domestic products, invest in high technology, effectively exploit expansion projects, take care of workers’ lives, do social activities…

After hearing the reports on business and manufacturing activities from the Chairman of the Managing Board of Nha Be Garment and directly visiting manufacturing units, talking with foreigner experts, designers and workers, the Deputy Minister appraised the achievement of the Corporation throughout 40 years of construction and development, with a non-stop expansion in terms of scope and competence. Moreover, the Deputy Minister supported NBC’s developmental orientation to use strategic approaches for the next period. The Deputy Minister stressed that the Government and the Ministry of Industry and Trade were very concerned about the garment industry and tried to provide appropriate policies to boost domestic development, increase localization ratio, and support to ensure business organizations can compete in the integration circumstances.
