In bustling environment to prepare for traditional Tet holiday, Ms. Ho Thi Kim Hoa, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade, paid a visit to Nha Be Garment Corporation (NBC) and wished NBC’s workers and employees a happy new year.

At the welcome ceremony, Ms. Duong Thi Ngoc Dung – Chairwoman of Board of Directors of Nha Be Garment Corporation, reported to Deputy Minister and guests significant achievements obtained by NBC in 2010, resulting in NBC’s turnover reaching closely 2,500 billion dong, exceeding its plan and the growth rate of 29% in compared with 2009. Particularly, the local market increased 59% compared to the same period last year.

In 2010, NBC succeeded in 6 outstanding points: rapid growth in turnover; strong investment, mainly in advance machinery and equipment and in expanding scale in provinces (during the last 6 months of 2010, NBC’s member companies in Binh Dinh province attracted over 5.000 workers, to ensure the stable production as planned); stable human resource and provision of more training courses to workforce to serve for the expansion of NBC as well as to meet the guideline of Vinatex and Ministry of Industry and Trade; in 2010, NBC also succeeded in setting up a strategic division: FOB Division, which shall be responsible for directly seeking source of goods without any intermediary; heavy investment in developing trademarks and making a strong impression for NBC as well as branch trademarks; the last but not least is the interest of NBC in taking care the life of its workers and employees with the average income increased by 15%.

Deputy Minister Ho Thi Kim Hoa warmly praised NBC’s achievements during past years. She spoke highly of the talented leadership of NBC directors as well as the solidarity of entire NBC Big Family to obtain such good results at the present. However, she also called the attention of NBC’s workers and employees in consideration of strategies to achieve stronger development in 2011, deserved to be the leading flag of Vietnam textile and garment industry.

In the warm environment of the ceremony, Mr. Tran Quang Nghi - General Director of Vietnam National Textile and Garment Group (Vinatex) also had a few words with NBC directors. He wished that NBC still acts as the most positive element in the change of value chain of Vietnam textile and garment and especially, NBC shall express the highest solidarity spirit among members of Vinatex.

After that, the delegation of Ministry of Industry and Trade led by Deputy Minister Kim Thoa visited garment production factories as well as some departments in Nha Be Garment Corporation.
