Execution of Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) model in Zone III A

On the afternoon of 15 November 2013, NBC launched the “Total Productive Maintenance – TPM” model in Zone III A.  Attending the execution date of “Card Hanging” activity were Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Lan – Deputy General Director, Ms. Nguyen Thi Hong Cuc – Managing Director of Zone III, Ms. Huynh Thi Hong Cuc – Human Resource Department, Mr. Son - Head of Electrical Engineering of Zone III, all Boards of TPM of the Corporation and project consultants in charge of project implementation.  They performed the card hanging activity by hanging the first cards to the equipment with defects clearly identified.

In the picture, Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Lan - Deputy General Director of NBC was carrying out the "Identification – Detection and Notification" procedure of the card hanging activity.

Total Productive Maintenance - TPM is a management approach firstly applied in Japan, then it was popularized and widely used in the industrial manufacturing industry all over the world. Under this method, the operation of machinery in factories shall be performed by operators while the maintenance of machinery shall be undertaken by other specialized units.  According to the program content, it is a necessary action in order to:

- Prevent the degradation of the equipment

- Gradually bring the equipment to the original condition

- Maintain the equipment in stable and reliable working conditions

- Ensure the availability of the equipment when necessary.

Thus, the deployment of Total Productive Maintenance - TPM in parallel with Lean manufacturing program is a right step taken based on the high awareness, reflecting the continued development of Nha Be Corporation’s Board of Management.  Based on the initial effectiveness brought by Lean manufacturing which made average yields exceed 15 % and stabilized the proportion of quality, along with the companion of the consultants of the project with the extensive knowledge and experience, NBC’s Board of Management will communicate, apply, train, organize, operate and make alterations to ensure that the TPM program will bring the highest efficiency as set by the targets.

Execution of TPM model in Zone III A

With taking steps of sustainable development, NBC desires to increasingly enhance production capacity, gradually increase the income for workers, develop the corporate culture, create good industrial behavior, innovative mindset, good creation… Therefore, the application of Lean manufacturing and TPM will be the essential prerequisite to move to the implementation of other important activities in all over NBC’s system during the near future.
