NBC commenced to build Soc Trang Nha Be Garment Factory

In the morning of 19th May 2017, Nha Be Garment Corporation JSC (NBC) organized the Commencement Ceremony of Soc Trang Nha Be Garment Factory at Highway 60, Ward 7, Soc Trang city, Soc Trang province. This is a big project to improve competitive competence, develop manufacturing and selling potential, increase profits, create jobs for workers, and positively influence Soc Trang’s socioeconomic development in the future.

Overview of the Commencement Ceremony to begin the project 

Soc Trang Nha Be Garment Factory project was built in an area of 6 hectares, with the total capital of 300 billion dongs, which has modern infrastructure and equipment. This project shall resolve job problems of 4,000 workers when put into use. The project includes 2 stages; stage 1 equivalent to 2,000 workers shall start to be built right after the commencement ceremony and is expected to be put into use in February 2018; stage 2 shall start to be built in 2019 after Period 1 is completed. Soc Trang Nha Be Garment Factory shall be specialized in producing high-quality garments, such as suits, trousers, ladieswear and other fashionable garments. Its production capacity is estimated to reach 25-30 million pieces/year, and export turnover to reach approximately 90-100 million USD/year for the first few years.

Mr. Tran Van Chuyen, Assistant Secretary of Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People’s Committee of Soc Trang, said that “The fact that NBC opens a factory to attract many local workers is a good sign, which partly contributes to resolve local job problems, and limits the migration of local workers. At the same time, it significantly contributes to resolve social security problem in the long run. Therefore, I propose that city departments and local authorities facilitate the project so it can soon be completed and put into use”.

This is one of the projects to improve manufacturing competence and ensure development of business and manufacturing activities of NBC. Soc Trang Nha Be Garment Factory shall meet export and domestic standards, which helps to complete the FOB, ODM supplies chain of NBC in the new period. At the same time, NBC specially focuses on investing and constructing garment projects in the Western areas, including Soc Trang, to achieve its goal of diversified investment, and to combine the goal of garment development with poverty reduction and rural industrialization.
