NBC hold the anniversary of Vietnamese Women's Day

On the occasion of the 81^st anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam Women’s Union (20 October 1930 – 20 October 2011),  Standing Committee of the Union of Nha Be Garment Corporation held the meeting for NBC women and develop the National Strategy on gender equality for the period of 2011-2020.  

Presenting at the meeting are NBC directors, Chairman of the Union together with the Board of Management of the Corporation, Executive Board of the local Union and women of many departments and factories.

The meeting is a chance for women to review the heroic, indomitable and resourceful tradition of Vietnamese Women in particular as well as of typical women in textile and garment industry in general. Many outstanding examples of female workers such as Ms. Cu Thi Hau– Labor Heroine; Ms. Ninh Thi Ty – Labor Heroine – former Deputy General Director of Vietnam National Textile and Garment Group; Ms. Duong Thi Ngoc Dung – Vietnam Golden Rose Award – Deputy General Director of Vinatex… have been raised for female workers and employees of NBC to take them as their model.

With the program “Take action for gender equality for the period 2011-2015”, Mr. Pham Phu Cuong – General Director of NBC emphasized: “It is equality rather than try to be equal. Opportunities, rights and obligations of female workers and employees shall be guaranteed”. Mr. Cuong also called the local union’s attention to the equality of women, not only in the workplace, society but also in their family. In order to perform the action program on gender equality successfully, representatives of the local Union set forth 7 objectives as well as specific solutions, and made commitments to perform such tasks well.

In the informal meeting on 20 October, members in the Executive Board of the local Union gave presents to female workers and employees of entities who are poor but overcoming difficulties. It is the mutual affection and love of entire NBC’s workers and employees intended for women under difficulties with the spirit “One piece of food while hungry equals a big box of food while full”. Accordingly, every workers and employees contributed one paid day wage to the fund with the total mount of the benefit this year up to 70.200.000 dong.

Many poor women felt moved upon receiving presents full of love given annually on the occasion of Vietnamese Women’s Day, and they promised to strive harder in the work and well fulfill their role in the family at the same time.
