NBC organizes the training on Total Productive Maintenance ( TPM)

In order to meet the increasing requirements on performance and quality, the role of machinery and equipment should be paid special attention.  In 2 days, last 27 and 28 May 2014, NBC held a training course on "Total Productive Maintenance - TPM" for the leaders, managers, electromechanical and relevant departments of units directly under the Corporation to initially raise awareness on and application of the "Total Productive Maintenance - TPM"

TPM program emphasized the application of "proactive and preventive" maintenance methods in replace with the current "passive & repair" traditional maintenance methods and combined with activities to mitigate losses of equipment to maximize the efficiency of the device.  TPM helps to eliminate traditional maintenance perspective that "Equipment Maintenance is the role of mechanical and electrical department" but aims to the perspective that "All departments are responsible for the equipment" thereby brought the overall efficiency of the equipment used for the production process.

The implementation of the "Total Productive Maintenance - TPM" program promises to bring impressive effects such as: Minimize downtime, improve equipment performance and reduce the rate of defective products.  It thereby brought benefits to the company such as: Increase production capacity, reduce production costs, extend equipment life, increase customer satisfaction and enhance the competitiveness capacity of the company. 

This training helped the participants to learn of: 

- The meaning of maintenance and the difference between maintenance methods

- Roles and responsibilities of the departments with respect to machinery and equipment 

- Content, purpose and meaning of TPM 

- The implementation steps of TPM program

- Together discuss so that each unit can learn and deal with difficulties in the implementation of operation process in each unit 

The participants presented the status and solutions after discussion

The program was successful in getting attention and coordination of each unit in the implementation process and implementation of TPM.  The program helped to produce the most effectiveness on the full-scale of the Corporation. After the training, TPM program will gradually come into operation on the entire system and the participants are the key factors for the successful implementation of this model in NBC. As a result, NBC will organize similar training courses in the near future.
