NBC successfully held the labour conference in 2013

In the morning of 01 April, Nha Be Garment Corporation (NBC) successfully held a labour conference in 2013 with the participant of over 500 typical workers and employees from entities in the entire NBC’s network.

On behalf of the Corporation’s board of management, Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Lan -  NBC’s Vice President- reported business results in 2012 as follows: industrial production value reached 1,784 billion VND, completing 85.48 % as planned (increased 9.25% compared with 2011); the total of sales and other services in 2012 was 2,803 billion VND, completing 93.75% as planned and increased by 2.5% compared with 2011; profit before tax reached 72,134 billion VND exceeding 10.97% as compared with the proposed plan.

In 2012, although the world and local economy suffered from various difficulties and fluctuations; however, thanks to flexible business strategies plus ongoing effort, NBC has not only overcome but also has continued to make innovation investments such as: making equity investment in Lagi Tourism Company; making capital contribution of 25% of the charter capital of VINATEX Investment Development Corporation; establishing 2 garment companies in Tu Nghia (in Quang Ngai province) and Bong Son Garment (in Binh Dinh province); coordinating with Vinatex-Mart in building mini supermarket in the Corporation to serve its workers and employees; improving various technical processes, manpower reduction, materials cost reduction, energy savings, etc. saving hundreds of millions dong per month. Due to such encouraging results, NBC continues to receive the emulation flag of "the leading company in the garment industry" awarded by the Prime Minister.

Mr. Pham Phu Cuong – NBC’s General Director - has introduced many orientations and tasks with specific targets for 2013 such as: investment in human resource development, especially manpower of high qualification in order to meet NBC’s current and future tasks; continuous focus and investment in advanced technology and equipment for men’s suits, women’s suits, shirts to make a further increasing difference in labor productivity as well as product quality. In addition, NBC will continue to actively take good care of material and spiritual life of its labourers under various practical methods such as: organizing the competition movements, recreation, housing allowance, meal allowance increase, salary increase for employees, etc.

During the conference, General Director Pham Phu Cuong listened and answered all recommendations of workers from all of its member companies across the country; at the same time, he also collected opinions voting for criteria set out in 2013.  In 2013, although the economy still contains various difficulties which poses such a major challenge for all workers and employees of the Corporation to accomplish the objectives as set out, NBC’s board of management strongly believes that all workers and employees will stand together and try their best at all times to successfully fulfill the proposed plan.
